We are honored to continue our collaboration with the Viva Foundation. Together we organize cultural events for the displaced people of Artsakh and the local community members in Armenian regions.

We are delighted to present young Armenian pianist Ruben Kozin, who is our Piano program fellow.
Ruben applied to Dmitry Masleev’s piano master classes in Yerevan and later was invited to perform at the Visages d’Arménie Festival in France.

BIO

Ruben Kozin was born in 1997. When he was only 5 years old, he entered music school. At the age of 12, Ruben changed to the Central Music School at the P.I. Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory studying piano with Natalia Trull, professor of the Conservatory. In 2020 Ruben graduated from Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory.

In Russia, Ruben Kozin has performed at the Great and the Small Rachmaninov Halls of the Moscow State Conservatory, at the Concert Hall of the Russian State Gnessin Academy of Music, the Moscow International House of Music and at the Concert Hall of the Moscow Museum of Musical Culture. Furthermore, Ruben has given concerts in Armenia, Croatia, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, Malta, Kazakhstan, Denmark, Germany, Belgium and Belarus.

Ruben has already achieved several international competitions. In May 2016, he won the 3rd prize at the International Piano Competition FVG (Sacile, Italy), and in September 2016 the 3rd prize at the Andre Dumortier International Piano Competition (Leuze-en-Hainaut, Belgium).

In April 2017 Ruben won the 2nd prize at the Malta International Piano Competition, in August 2017 he gained the 2nd prize at the First International Eurasian Music Games in Astana, Kazakhstan. At the VIII International Piano Competition in Almaty (Kazakhstan), he won in November 2017 the 2nd prize.
In June 2023 he became a finalist of the 19th Aram Khachaturian International competition in Yerevan.

Ruben took part in master classes of Akiko Ebi, Ronan O’Hora, Youngho Kim, Jenny Zaharieva, Eugen Indjic, Andrea Bonatta, Kevin Kenner, Dmitry Masleev, Pascal Nemirovski, and Vanessa Latarche.

His vast repertoire already includes more than 15 piano concertos from different periods. Ruben performed with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, the National Chamber Orchestra of Armenia, the Orchestra of the Central Music School at Moscow State P.I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory, and the Rostov Academic Symphony Orchestra.
